No. All calculations happen entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your salary data never leaves your device and is not sent to any servers. When you save comparisons to history, they are stored locally in your browser's storage. When you share results via URL, the data is encoded in the link itself, not stored on our servers.

For RSUs, enter the total 4-year grant value based on current stock price. For stock options, estimate their value by calculating (number of options × (current stock price - strike price)). Keep in mind that stock prices fluctuate, and startup equity carries additional risk. The calculator allows you to compare different equity scenarios.

We include 50+ major US cities with cost of living data. If your city isn't listed, select the closest comparable city or "Average US City" as a baseline. Cost of living multipliers are based on housing, food, transportation, and local tax rates relative to the national average.

Yes! Signing bonuses and relocation packages are included in the comparison. When viewing 1-year totals, these are added once. When viewing 4-year totals, they're still only added once (not multiplied by 4). This gives you an accurate picture of total compensation over your chosen timeframe.

If you check "Remote Work Option" and enter commute details, the calculator estimates savings from: (1) gas/car costs based on miles and days per week, and (2) time value of your commute at $25/hour. This helps quantify the financial benefit of remote work beyond just the salary number.

Currently, the calculator is optimized for US-based job offers in USD. For international offers, you'll need to convert to USD first. Cost of living adjustments and tax calculations are based on US cities and tax codes.
