Compare job offers, round by round
Put up to four offers in the ring. OfferJudge scores pay, equity, benefits, growth, commute and fit on a boxing-style 10-point card, adjusts for cost of living, and hands down a decision you can argue with.
What matters to you
Each round's points are multiplied by its weight. Set a weight to 0 to ignore a round.

Ask the judge for a second opinion
The scorecard is arithmetic. If something on your mind doesn't fit a number (a shaky startup, a manager you clicked with, a visa, a partner's job), write it down and get a short written verdict that weighs it against your numbers.
Sends your offer figures and note to an AI model through Vercel AI Gateway. Nothing is stored. AI can be wrong; your scorecard above stays put either way.
How to compare job offers without fooling yourself
Most people compare the base salary line and stop. That is how a $110,000 offer beats a $100,000 one that actually pays more once the 6% 401(k) match, a cheaper health plan and 12 fewer commuting hours a month are counted. The scorecard forces every offer through the same six rounds.
- Cash pay. Base plus target bonus. If the bonus has paid out below target in recent years, ask the recruiter and lower it here.
- Equity. Enter the value that vests in a typical year, not the four-year headline grant. Private-company equity deserves a steep haircut; the RSU calculator shows why.
- Benefits. The 401(k) match is free money, health premiums are a real cost, and each PTO day is worth a day's pay.
- Growth. A 5% annual raise against 2% turns into a five-figure gap by year five. Model longer paths in the career growth calculator.
- Commute & time. Hours are priced at your hourly base rate, so a long drive costs a senior engineer more than a junior one.
- Role & people. Your gut score. It is a round like any other; weight it as heavily as you honestly care.
Scoring uses the professional boxing 10-point must system: the best offer in a round gets 10, others get 9, or 8 and 7 when they trail badly. That stops one enormous equity number from swamping everything else, which is exactly what a raw dollar total does.
See it flip: weights decide close fights
Two made-up offers. Offer A pays more; Offer B has the shorter commute and better team. Drag how much you care about time and fit.
A draw: this is the exact weight where you are indifferent.
Nominal vs real salary
$140,000 in a city with a cost-of-living index of 125 buys what $112,000 buys at the US average (100). Toggle "Adjust money for cost of living" above to see your offers both ways.
Questions people ask
How do I compare two job offers fairly?
Convert everything to the same yearly, same-city terms: base plus realistic bonus, the equity that vests per year, the 401(k) match, what you pay for health insurance, paid time off, and what the commute costs you in money and hours. Then decide how much each of those matters to you. The scorecard on this page does both steps.
Should I take the job offer with the higher salary?
Not automatically. A lower base can win once a bigger 401(k) match, a cheaper health plan, faster raises or a cheaper city are counted. And if two offers are within about 5% on money, fit with your manager and team usually matters more for your next five years than the difference.
How much is equity worth when comparing offers?
For public-company RSUs, use the yearly vesting amount at today's share price and accept that it moves. For private startup equity, many advisers value it at a fraction of the paper amount, or at zero for the base-case comparison, because most startup equity never becomes liquid.
What is a cost-of-living index?
A number that compares prices in a place with the national average (100). The US Bureau of Economic Analysis publishes Regional Price Parities for every state and metro area; in 2024 California was 110.7 and Arkansas 86.9. Dividing a salary by index/100 turns it into US-average dollars.
Is my data saved?
Your offers are saved only in this browser (localStorage) so they are still here when you come back. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you press "Get a verdict". You can wipe it on the privacy page.
Can I ask for more money after comparing offers?
Yes, and a competing offer is the strongest reason you can give. Use the salary negotiation calculator to pick a counter and a walk-away number, and it will draft the email for you.
